No Yoga Experience Required
Each session Joanne will use her expertise and sense of humor to bring out your inner-child as you work through the Yoga Pretzels to help you build fun and interesting sequences to address the needs of children in a multitude of settings. Each session will be a combination of lecture and movement.
This course is ideal for:

- - OTs, PTs, School Counselors, Mental Health Specialists to use with their students
- - Teachers to use with typical or special-needs students
- - Yoga Teachers who want an introduction to teaching yoga to children
Through the yoga practices and the cards you will learn to:

If you do not have any yoga experience, you may benefit from practicing some of the sequences on Joanne’s “Absolute Beginner Yoga DVD” (available on Amazon or Savannah Yoga Boutique).
Joanne Spence, BSW, ERYT is the founder and Executive Director of Yoga in Schools (YIS), an award-winning non-profit organization that serves kids and teachers, empowering them to learn yoga as a lifetime wellness skill. Joanne and her team have reached nearly 20,000 children since 2005 by training, supporting and resourcing teachers. Joanne teaches wellness and yoga workshops nationally and internationally, she is also a frequent presenter at national educational conferences and at the world-renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Lennox, MA.
Joanne lives with her husband and three children in Pittsburgh, PA where she works part-time as a yoga therapist at Western Psychiatric Clinic and Institute with adults and children. In her spare time she runs Yoga on the Square. The favorite part of her job(s) is introducing people to yoga who have never considered that they could or should! When not teaching yoga, she loves to be outdoors for as long as possible communing with nature and her rambunctious family.
